- PREMI CELL CELLULAR DEVICES
- The differing types and the applications used by them.
Widespread usage of mobile handsets has in turn created a need for
companies to consider installing Premi Cell Cellular Devices into their existing
telephone system, so as to transmit and receive applications from their
office to mobile handsets within the confines of a Mobile Network Operator's tariffing table, in a bid to contain costs.
The type of Premi Cell Cellular Device you install is something that will need to be
carefully considered. They are numerous
in type and there are several ways in which they can be configured. However,
it should be noted that not all telephone systems can accommodate them and,
furthermore, like most other telecommunications hardware, the cost of
purchasing and installing them often means that it will take some time to
positively offset the amount you will save in call charges. In fact,
installing the incorrect type could actually increase your call charges
considerably. To combat this, we collate and report your differing call
types within your bills to ensure that we can determine the type of "Premi
Cells" best suited for your firm first.
- MOBILE CALL GUARD - Live monitoring of your mobile phone's calling activities.
A call spend limit is implemented by assigning a preset spend criteria (on either a per call, or a per day basis) to each of your firm's mobile phones. If the preset level is breached we inform you by text message and/or email and await your instruction by return, and if needs be, temporarily or permanently barring the mobile phone's ability to make any further outgoing calls.
- MOBILE PHONES - Their applications, which handset and which network.
Most employees view their mobile phone as an invaluable piece of equipment these days - particularly now that the handsets can support web browsing, video messaging and email, all of which, thanks to "Bluetooth" technology, can be transferred into different types of applications operating on other types of hardware. The make and model of mobile handsets we can provide are as per those generally available from retail stores. Your choice is endless and choosing which mobile handset you want to have can be as simple or as difficult as you want to make it. When it comes to which network you want your mobile phone to operate on, the choice is more limited. Nevertheless, Datatel offer "Business Tariff" mobile call plans on all of the major networks. When deciding upon a network it is worth remembering that "Cross" or "Off" network calls (calling mobile phones that operate on a different network to the network your handset operates on) are more expensive than "On" network calls. It therefore makes sense for your all your company's handsets to operate on the same network.
- CALLING A MOBILE/CELLULAR DEVICE- The cost of dialling numbers within the 07xxx number range.
Mobile devices have
a telephone number commencing "07". This has been the case
since April 2001 when OFTEL reclassified the UK's number prefix system. Since
then, over 200 different call tariffs to numbers commencing "07" have been
approved by OFTEL, meaning that sometimes you pay a fixed fee to connect to
an "07" number, sometimes you are charged at a "pence per minute" rate and
sometimes you pay both. In addition to this, in January 2000 OFTEL
implemented the number portability provisions of the Numbering Directive
(98/61/EC), which allows any number commencing "07" to be
assigned or moved to operate on any type of Mobile/Cellular device. These
OFTEL changes have resulted in the cost of dialling the same "07" number
being able to differ by as much as 5000% depending on the Mobile/Cellular
device the number has been assigned to. For example, telephone number 07111
111111 may start life as a Paging number that costs you a fixed fee of 10.7
pence to call. However, the owner of 07111 111111 may decide to port the
number onto his/her Satellite phone which operates on the Inmarsat network
which will now cost you £5.04 per minute to call.
It should be noted that the call rate at which an "07" number is tariffed is
determined by either the company who issued the "07" number initially, the
owner of the network the number is currently being used on, or both of them,
with either or both of them receiving an "interconnect" income every time
you dial the "07" number. It is therefore possible only when you have
received your bill that you can begin to analyse how much each of the calls
to an "07" number has cost you.
